의문문 1

■ case 1

일반적으로 첫 번째 동사를 주어 앞에 쓴다.

※ 조동사, 완료형 have, 수동태와 진행형 be

• ex 1) Tom will ... -> Will Tom be ...?
• ex 2) You have ... -> Have you been ...?
• ex 3) The house was ... -> When was the house built?

■ case 2

일반동사를 사용하는 단순현재 의문문에서는 do/does, 과거는 did 사용.

• ex 1-1) You live ... -> Do you live ...?
• ex 1-2) The film begins ... -> What time does the film begin?
• ex 2-1) You sold ... -> Did you sell ...?
• ex 2-2) The train stopped ... -> Why did the train stop?

 

who, what 등이 주어로 사용된 경우 do/does/did를 사용하지 않음.

• 목적어로 사용) Kim called somebody -> Who did Kim call?
• 주어로 사용) Somebody called Kim. -> Who called Kim?

주어

• ex 1) Who wants something ...?
• ex 2) What happend ...?
• ex 3) How many people came ...?
• ex 4) Which bus goes ...?

■ case 3

who/what/which/where ...? 시작 시 전치사의 위치

• ex 1) Who do you want to speak to?
• ex 2) Which job has Ann applied for?
• ex 3) What was the weather like yesterday?
• ex 4) Where are you from?
• ex 5) To whom do you wish to speak? ※ 문어체에서는 전치사 + whom 사용 가능

■ case 4

부정의문문. Isn't it ...? / Didn't you ...?

• 놀람 ex) Didn't you hear the doorbell?
• 상대에게 동의를 기대할 때 ex) "Haven't we met somewhere before?", "Yes, we have"

의문문의 형태가 긍정이든 부정이든 대답 시 긍정이면 yes, 부정이면 no.

ex) Don't you want to go to the party?

긍정) Yes, I want to go: 아니요, 가고 싶어요.

부정) No, I don't want to go: 네, 가고 싶지 않아요.

ex 1) In Sydney.

✅ -> (where / live?) Where do you live?

2) No, I was born in Melbourne.

❌ -> (born there?) Was it your born there?

=> Were you born there?

3) Yes.

❌ -> (married?) Did you marry?

=> Are you married?

4) 20 years.

❌ -> (how long / married?) How long have you been marry?

=> How long have you been married?

5) Yes, two girls.

✅ -> (children?) Do you have children?

=> (다른 표현) Have you got (any) children?

6) 20 and 25.

✅ -> (how old / they?) How old are they?

7) I'm a developer.

❌ -> (what / do?) What do you work?

=> What do you do?

8) She's a designer.

❌ -> (what / wife / do?) What do your wife work?

=> What does your wife do?

 

예시 답변을 보고 who / what을 사용하여 질문해보기.

ex 1) Somebody hit me.

✅ -> Who hit you?

ex 2) I hit somebody.

✅ -> Who did you hit?

3) Somebody paid the bill.

✅ -> Who paid the bill?

4) Something happend.

✅ -> What happend?

5) Diane said something.

✅ -> What did Diane say?

6) This book belongs to somebody.

❌ -> Who belong to this book?

=> Who does it/this book belong to?

7) Somebody lives in that house.

❌ -> Who live in that house?

=> Who lives in that house?

=> (다른 표현) Who lives there?

8) I fell over something.

❌ -> What did you feel over?

=> What did you fall over?

※ fall 미국·영국 [fɔːl]: 1. 떨어지다, 빠지다, 내리다, 2. 넘어지다, 3. (머리카락이나 직물이) 늘어지다

9) Something fell on the floor.

❌ -> What is it on the floor?

=> What fell on the floor?

10) This word means something.

❌ -> What is the word mean?

=> What does it/this word mean?

11) I borrowed the money from somebody.

❌ -> Who did you borrow?

=> Who did you borrow it/the money from?

12) I'm worried about something.

❌ -> What was your worry?

=> What are you worried about?

 

알맞은 순서로 배열하여 의문문 만들기.

ex 1) (when / was built / this house)

✅ -> When was this house built?

2) (how / cheese / is / made)

✅ -> How is cheese made?

3) (when / invented / the computer / was)

✅ -> When was the computer invented?

※ invent 미국·영국 [ɪnˈvent]: 1. 발명하다, 2. (사실이 아닌 것을) 지어내다

4) (why / Sue / working / isn't / today)

✅ -> Why isn't Sue working today?

5) (what time / coming / your friends / are)

✅ -> What time are your friends coming?

6) (why / was / canceled / the concert)

✅ -> Why was the conert canceled?

7) (where / your mother / was / born)

✅ -> Where was your mother born?

8) (why / you / to the party / didn't / come)

✅ -> Why didn't you come to the party?

9) (how / the accident / did / happen)

✅ -> How did the accident happen?

10) (why / this machine / doesn't / work)

✅ -> Why doesn't this machine work?

 

괄호 안의 단어를 사용하여 놀라움을 나타내는 부정의문문 만들기.

ex 1) A: We won't see Ann tonight.

✅ B: Why not? (she / not come / to the party?) Isn't she coming to the party?

2) A: I hope we don't see brian tonight.

❌ B: Why? (you / not like him?) Aren't you like him?

=> Don't you like him?

3) A: Don't go and see that movie.

✅ B: Why not? (it / not / good?) Isn't it good?

4) A: I'll have to borrow some money.

❌ B: Why? (you / not / have / any?) Haven't you any?

=> Don't you have any?
